What is the devil’s job?

What is the devil’s job? To demonstrate evil and in the process promotes goodness. What about the god’s job? Just the reverse, demonstrating goodness and in the process promotes evil. Together what is their job? To show that it’s only illusion or relative reality and return attention back to a purer (absolute) reality that is prior to the apparent struggles between Good vs Evil.
